Today I had the pleasure to finish up a client that came to me with lips that had a outer ring of freckles. She spoke with everyone in the permanent cosmetic industry from here to Utah (her hometown); interestingly enough, all the artists said they would have to go GOTHIC. She kept looking because she is very conservative. Then, she contacted me… I had success in the past neutralizing freckles, so my thought were to neutralize the freckles then color her lips with a natural color. After some time, we are completely finished and of course she came back for her eyeliner!

Now my client is ……

….Confident, Happy, and Beautiful!!!

Motto: Do not settle…. get what you want!

1. Brighten up your eyes for Spring! Use a soft highlighting color to bring light to your eyes.
   Just a dab will do ya! Pat on a little highlighting color just under the brow line for instant WOW!
2. Define Your Eyes.
   If you already have permanent cosmetics, this step is done for you. But if you want to add a more dramatic look to what you have- eyeliner is the trick, especially if you are a woman of an interesting age and want a little more definition.
3. Add a Little Shimmer. Leave the real heavy shimmer to the teenyboppers and just use a soft shimmer to add a little light and color to your eyes this Spring. Nothing too deep in color, just soft, soft, soft!                                                                                                    * (hint: try a damp pointy sponge applicator to apply your eyeshadow)

Hitting 50 is an awakening.

Today I had a beautiful 62 year youngly woman, getting a color boost, from 7 years ago, is marrying a 37 year young man.

Good for her, she told me she uses zest on her skin… I made some recommendations and she will shape up nicely.

She was in a funk, needed a lift, Voila, four hours later a more confident, smiling woman emerged. She couldn’t wait to get home and show her hubby. She looked like a movie star! Perfection!

I was reading an article by Marc Birenbaum, beautystorebusiness.com, and I really loved something I read.

“Makeup is a real-life tool [in a woman's] arsenal to

control the way she wants to be precieved.”

I am having many clients return for color boosts from 13 years ago !! My very first client is in town next week and she is coming in to boost her eyeliner. She said

“She cant imagine life without her permanent cosmetics.”I can not wait to work on her again after all these years.

According to the February2012 issue of the Smithsonian;

Back in 1950, there were 2,300 people in the U.S. older than 100; by 2050, according to some estimates, that number could hit 600,000.

No doubt, it would ratchet up our expectations of how productive an 80-year-old should be.

With that being said, the new 100, is 80.

I have found that at least half of my new clients fall in the late 60′s, 70′s and thru the 80′s.
